How many times have you reached the point, when caring for your sick parent, of searching for a sign of hope that everything will be okay, when deep down you know that nothing will change for the better?
How many times have your eyes swollen from crying, on nights when you worried about the health of your loved one?
How many times have you worn a smile over the pain so as not to upset your father or mother?
But the most important thing is:
How many times have you felt proud of what your parent offered during his creative life? For the lives he helped, for the humanity he showed to others, even strangers, for his agonizing effort to reduce pain or heal your own wounds.
I'll tell you.
As the daughter of a Cardiologist, I am grateful that my dad healed people's hearts and that doesn't change. He may not have been able to save his own life, but he saved many others!
Be proud of your parents.
