The silent patient

A few months ago I read the book "The silent patient"from the Dioptra Publications by the Cypriot writer Alex Michaelides, with whom we are also related.

His book belongs to the category of detective books, which is excellent and takes your breath away. Of course, the book also belongs to the categories of thrillers and psychological novels.

Needless to say, I read it in one day, because from beginning to end I felt anxious about the silent patient.

I think it's one of the best books I've read, because the author keeps you in suspense, confuses you a little & in the end everything seems clear.

The book conveys the message that someone through a family tragedy can easily go from joy to sadness & from sadness to the dark side of themselves.

Particularly interesting was the heroine's inclusion in a psychiatric unit where one also observes the other side of life, namely the one that has no joys, but the one where you completely lose yourself & have to live with the help of doctors and medication.

Let's not forget that psychiatric units and mental illnesses are not part of every writer's imagination, but are real and can happen to anyone these days.

I highly recommend the book, because if you like detective stories, thrillers, and psychological books, then Alex Michaelides' book is just the thing for you.
